The Integrated Mindanao Economic Forum (IMEF) is generally a center for dialogue and free exchange of ideas and experiences, formulation of proposals and resolutions, as well as networking for effective planning and action by individuals, groups, organizations, institutions and companies on local, national and international levels.  As a center for dialogue and free exchange of ideas and experiences, the IMEF encourages understanding and mutual respect among its participant individuals, groups or organizations, and places due importance to productive business conversations and constructive dialogues, in conformity with Islamic values and norms.

The IMEF recognizes that human capital, intellectual capital and all other resources it owns, partakes or can influence need to be synergized with social networking through linkages with appropriate influential individuals, groups, organizations or institutions locally or internationally.

Brief Profile

  

 

Abdul Hannan is the first Filipino bilingual journalist, who speaks four languages Arabic, English, Maranao and Tagalog. He obtained his BA in Arabic literature, major in Mass Communication and Public Relations from Al-Azhar University, and MA in Political Science from Arab League Institution - Cairo, Egypt. 

He is currently working with the leading newspaper in Middle East, Arab News in the capacity of Executive Assistant to the Editor-in-Chief at the same time senior staff reporter of the paper since 1992.

As active community leader Mr. Tago is the founder of the Integrated Mindanao Economic Forum (IMEF), which actively promotes Mindanao potential economic resources to Saudi investors.

 

 Being the only Filipino journalist who can write in Arabic, he is a regular writer in leading Arabic newspapers in the Middle East. His articles appear in Al-Sharq Al-Awsat and Al-Eqtisadiah frequently and other Arabic newspapers.  

He has 26 years experience in the Middle East, of which eight years were devoted to academic studies in Cairo, and 17 years in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. He worked with Saudi government stocks regulator, Capital Market Authority (CMA) and the Saudi Stock Market at its Media and Investment Awareness Department for two years.

He was tasked by CMA to organize the joint CMA/Euromoney/SAMA and SAGIA Economic Forum on "Building the Future" held in Riyadh in 2006. He joined Arab News in 1992 where he has been working ever since.  

Mr. Tago is an active member/adviser/chairman of many civic and sports organizations abroad. He enjoys very good relations with Saudi media and businessmen. 

 

 

Among his initiatives was the historic meeting with the richest and most influential businessman in the Arab and Muslim world,  HRH Prince Alwaleed bin Talal bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Chairman of Kingdom Holding Company (KHC).  

HRH was awarded an honorary doctorate in Business Administration by the Commission on Higher Education, Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (CHED-ARMM) through IMEF’s initiatives, during a conferment ceremony held in Riyadh on May 3rd 2008 at Kingdom Resort in Riyadh.

IMEF through its administration, managed to penetrate into Saudi high profiles society, global figures and who’s who of Arab world including the most influential personality in the Arab world, HRH Prince Alwaleed bin Talal.
